This petition from an unknown Korean organization was seen as the Syngman Rhee (Yi Seung-man) government´s attempt to explain their views concerning territorial sovereignty provisions in the upcoming peace treaty between the Allied Powers and Japan.   This petition was sent from the SCAP Political Advisor for Japan to the U.S. State Department on September 16, 1948.
